‘KarvaChauth’ is a major and an extremely special festival that I celebrate and it is more memorable because my husband fasts with me on this day as well. We wake up early in the morning and he starts the day by preparing the ‘sargi’ for me post which we visit a nearby temple to seek blessings. More than Diwali, I really enjoy dressing up on this day in the festival colour, Red. This year, I am planning on wearing a lehenga with a floral embroided crop top and long jhumkas as accessories. I like to keep my hair neat and elegant to flaunt the jhumkaas and hence would be braiding it. The only other accessory I would be wearing are fresh mogra flowers on my hair which has always been a part of my ensemble on every karva-chauth. My husband has a special love for these flowers and hence I decided to make them a part of my attire on this special day. My husband’s love gives me the glow that no cosmetic item can and therefore I prefer to keep the makeup on my face subtle and minimalistic, letting his love shine on my face.”
