Chamkaur Sahib. Charanjit Singh Channi, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha today paid obeisance at the Sri KatalGarh Sahib in Sri Chamkaur Sahib during the Saheedi Jor Mela. He appealed to the people to remember the supreme sacrifices made by the Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh ji, who laid their lives while fighting with Mughals. The people should live in peace and harmony, the people across the globe should be made more aware about the Sikh religion.
Channi said that because the two Sahibzadas were sacrificed in the battle that is the precise reason why the Congress party does not celebrate and organize the political conference on this day at Sri Chamkaur Sahib. This is the day when the whole humanity remembers the supreme sacrifice done by the Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji by organizing Akhand Paths and Ardas. Commenting on the development works done by the ruling SAD BJP government in the Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Channi said that a foundation stone was placed for making theme park in the memory of Sahibzada Ajit Singh ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh ji, the work started and already 16 Crores have been spent on the development of this park but this Badal Government stalled the theme park project after it came to power nine years ago. Till now they have left the project hanging in air like that only. This is the way they treat our Gurus and call themselves a “Panthic Party”. Just because the local representative MLA is from the Congress party and Capt Amarinder Singh then Chief minister inaugurated the project, the Akali Government stalled the project there and then.
Channi said that Sri Chamkaur Sahib being a religious hub is being totally neglected by the ruling party. The road network in the constituency is in very bad shape, there are no development funds pouring in the constituency for the last nine years. He alleged that Mr Parkash Singh Badal has only concentrated on his home Constituency Lambi. The sports stadium, the education network, road network, development of villages, which Mr Badal has taken to his constituency, cannot be compared with any other constituency of the State. Earlier in the day Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was also organized at the office of S Charanjit Singh Channi at Sri Chamkaur Sahib where senior leader Chaudhary Piara Ram also rejoined the congress party in the presence of many local leaders.
