SIT should be made under the supervision of sitting HC Judge to investigate the multicrore pesticide scam: Bittu

Tota singh should be sacked immediately, also appeals to the Prime Minister to intervene for smooth procurement of Paddy, Locks the office of director agriculture, lathi charged, detained and released while moving towards the office of Deputy Commissioner Bhatinda 

Bhatinda/Chandigarh. S Ravnit Singh Bittu, Member of Parliament alongwith S Ajit Inder Singh Mofar, MLA Sardoolgarh, Bharat Bhushan Ashu MLA Ludhiana west, S Bikram Mofar President DCC Mansa, S Khush Baaz Jattana Vice President PYC and thousands of the congress party workers were detained by the police while they were marching towards the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Bhatinda today. The congress workers were lathicharged also. Earlier all these leaders went to the office of agriculture officer Bhatinda and locked it. Special investigation team should be constituted under the direct supervision of the sitting Judge of Punjab Haryana High Court into the Multicrore pesticide scam. Laying seize on the office of the Director agriculture in Bhatinda today alongwith thousands of Congress workers Bittu said that nothing can be expected from the Chief Minister of the state who is shielding the corrupt political aides of his party and the government officials concerned. He appealed to the Hon Chief Justice of the Punjab Haryana High Court to take suo motto of this multi crore scam and constitute a time bound inquiry into it. He also said that the agriculture minister S Tota Singh should be sacked for his alleged negligence into this pesticide scam. The total loss to the farmers due to the white fly is pegged around 1200 crore, while the purchases made by the director agriculture went to the tune of Rs 33 crore against his power of just not purchasing more than 10 lacs. In this kind of scenario the only way of getting justice is through the Honorable High Court. Bittu also said that very soon Punjab congress will lead a delegation to the Honorable Governor of Punjab and submit him a memorandum. Lambasting on the Punjab government for the failure in not getting funds for the paddy procurement from centre, S Ravnit Singh Bittu said that the state government is still trying to get the funds to the tune of Rs 22000/- crore needed to buy over 135 lac tones of the paddy for which the procurement starts tomorrow. There is a dispute between the state government and the union ministry of food over the receivables of the state from the centre during the last paddy season. Bittu demanded that the Sh Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India should intervene into this deadlock and assure smooth procurement of paddy in this season. The farmers of Punjab are already in bad shape, number of suicides of the farmers have increased manifold in the last seven years due to the debt on them. Attacking the Chief Minister of Punjab S Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal and the union minister Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal for ignoring the interests of the farmers of the state and taking the agriculture of the state for ride Bittu asked can anyone of them tell what the SAD-BJP led government in Punjab has done for the betterment of the farming community of the state in the last eight years. The UPA government at the centre only gave them a package to bring them relief from the ongoing debt increase. Now also the three Badals should go and demand package from the union government on giving relief to the farmers of Punjab. The irony of the state of Punjab is that the Mr Badal demands the package for the farmers but his daughter in law and the union minister rejects that demand and justifies the union government. He appealed to the union minister S Harsimrat Kaur Badal to personally visit the houses of farmers who have committed suicides in the past and those who have incurred losses to the tune of 1200 crore due to white fly attack.
